I’ve never been a huge fan of New Year Eve – too much pressure and expectation. You need to have a plan way in advance, you MUST be doing something. Everthing is booked up and SO expensive!
But this year we went away to the beach with friends and it was the best New Year I’ve had.
Koh Mak is a quiet island and there’s not much to do there but there is a decent handful of restaurants and bars. The food available is fantastic and ranges from pizza and homemade cakes to some of the best Massaman curries I’ve had!
We first visited last December and loved how it was so quiet and relaxing but still had plenty of amenities.
Days spent reading and swimming and nights spent drinking (very strong) cocktails were all we needed to keep us happy!
